Here’s an unpopular proposition – the health care industry as we know it can’t be “fixed” because it is based on a false premise, the premise of “free money.” (…and just for fun, here’s a schematic of the House Dem’s “fix” — gee, they could get all that in, in a mere 1017 pages?) Truth — [...] There are frequent discussions these days about political labels. There is also value in putting the “brand” aside, and considering “generically” the issues of limited government, free markets and individual rights. What do derivatives, credit swaps, collateralized mortgage obligations, and the alphabet soup of high finance have to do with Liberty? Well, the potential yoke of generations of high taxes to pay off debt WE didn’t incur could be here, and it sounds more like serfdom that freedom… We ran across a brilliant piece attributed by a biographer to the legendary frontiersman Colonel Davy Crockett, then a congressman, called, Not Yours To Give. The title was intriguing, and, after finishing, it’s hard not to be struck by the wisdom and relevance of his words.
